Safety Sheet

Step 1 - Preparation:

  • On bare, reasonably clean concrete wash with floorsaver Floor Etcher. This cleans and keys the surface. On greasy or previously painted floors clean with floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser, scraping off any loose paint, dust or dirt. New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity.

Step 2 - Repairs:

  • Fill small surface holes and cracks using floorsaver Crack & Hole Filler. Use floorsaver Pourable Concrete Filler for holes 5mm-50mm deep. floorsaver Mouldable Concrete Filler can be used if you want a curved edge, such as a stair nosing, etc.

Step 3 - Application:

  • Check the floor is dry before painting and that the temperature is a minimum of 15 ℃.
  • Stir the paint thoroughly.
  • Do not thin.
  • Tip into a roller tray.
  • Cut in around edges with a brush.
  • Apply to the floor area using a paint roller, working well into the surface. Bare concrete should be sufficiently porous to allow the first coat to sink in.
  • Clean equipment with White Spirit.

Ask a Question
  • A: Our Floor Paint is a 2 coat product (so no under coat needed) suitable for concrete surfaces. For bare concrete - we recommend that the concrete is clean, dry and dust free prior to application. For a previously painted floor - the surface would need to be abraded to re-create a key for the paint to adhere. No primer is generally required.

  • A: Hi, provided it is covered and not exposed to UV, there is not problem using this externally. If uncovered, i am afraid we would not recommend using it im afraid, as the paint is not UV resistant.

  • A: Hi, this would be fine to be painted wiht our Floor Paint. Though I would always suggest sanding back the surface you want to paint to give our coating the best chance of adhering to the surface.

  • A: Hi, I am sorry but we cannot guarantee its UV resistance and only recommend it for internal use.

  • A: im sorry, i would not recommend painting tiles with our floor paint. the tiles would not allow the coating to stick to it well enough to be walked over.

  • A:

    Thank you for your enquiry,

Unfortunately we do not have anything suitable for tiled surfaces due to adhesion.

If I can help further please let me know.

  • A: Hi, I am afraid I would not recommend painting this type of surface. The tiles are designed to not allow things to stick to them and our paint cannot penetrate the surface to form a good bond. I'm afraid it is unlikely to form a strong enough bond to the surface of the tile.
    Kind Regards,

  • A: Hi, the only sealer we have is our Concrete Dustproofer, this will soak into the concrete and will harden and dustproof a weak substrate - https://www.floorsaver.co.uk/collections/sealers, however this will not leave a visible finish.

  • A: Our most suitable product for exterior concrete steps would be our Car Park Paint. This will cover approximately14-18m² per 5L with one thick coat. We do also have an exterior Line Marking Paint available. Please view the product page for further information.
