  • Preparation

    Multi-Purpose Paint is self-priming. Multiple coats can be used if full coverage is not achieved in one coat.

    • Painted Surfaces – Using a wire brush or scraper, get rid of any peeling paint or loose rust. Check remaining paint is well bonded. Very smooth, glossy paint must be lightly abraded to provide a key.
    • Bare Metal - Any grease or oil should be removed with Floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser or a similar degreasant. To improve adhesion, smooth metal surfaces can be prepared with a wire brush. All traces of degreasant should be washed away and the surface left completely clean, dry and free from loose material before painting.
    • Copper & Brass - If the surface has a green patina, this should be removed with phosphoric acid prior to painting.
    • Stainless Steel - Bristle blasting is recommended to provide a surface where the paint will adhere sufficiently.
    • Wood - Ensure the surface is clean and dry. Porous wood surfaces may require multiple coats to achieve desired finish.
    • Bare concrete - Wash with Floorsaver Floor Etcher, this cleans and keys the surface. On greasy or previously painted floors clean with Floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser, scraping off any loose paint, dust or dirt. New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with Floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity

    Application

    • Check the surface is clean and dry before painting and that the temperature is a minimum of 15°C
    • Stir the paint thoroughly
    • Do not thin
    • Tip into a roller tray
    • Cut in around the edges with a brush
    • Apply to the area using a paint roller or brush, working well into the surface
    • Clean equipment with White Spirit

How to Use
