  • Sealant That Works Even In The Wet

     

    OS111 is a high-performance bituminous sealant and adhesive built for the jobs other sealants can't handle - including damp, wet and even submerged substrates. It's ideal for external weather sealing where a reliable, long-term bond matters.

    Once cured, it stands up to serious temperature swings and years of weathering without breaking down.

    Where to use:

     

    • OS111 can go straight onto most typical construction materials without priming first. If you're working with something unusual, it's worth checking compatibility first, particularly with light-coloured plastics, which it can discolour on contact.

  • Preparation

    • Make sure joint faces are clean, dry of dust, oil, grease, old sealant and any other contaminants that could affect adhesion. Mechanically remove any old sealant or adhesive first.
    • Clean thoroughly using a suitable solvent and the two-cloth method: one cloth dampened with cleaner to lift contamination, a second clean dry cloth to remove any residue left behind.
    • Mask off adjacent surfaces to protect them from contamination.
    • If you're sealing a joint, back-fill it with polyethylene joint backing first to control the depth of sealant.

    Application

    • Cut the end off the cartridge thread with a sharp knife, being careful not to damage the thread, then trim the nozzle to the diameter you need.
    • Make sure the joint surfaces are in good contact before applying. Apply a bead of OS111 to one or both surfaces.
    • If using as an adhesive over a larger area: Spread it immediately with a notched spreader.
    • If working on a wet substrate: Keep the cartridge nozzle within 3mm of the surface as you go, this helps get the best adhesion.

    Cleaning Guide

    • Remove any excess sealant straight away.
    • Once cured, sealant can only be removed mechanically, so it's worth getting the application right first time.
