    ME315 Total Protection Tape is a special single-sided tape with a solvent-free, modified acrylic dispersion adhesive. It gives a high-performing air and weather tight seal, inside or out.

    It's built for sealing sheathing boards, slab edge details and the durable bonding of illbruck vapour barrier and breather membranes. On all illbruck indoor and outdoor building protection membranes, you get a permanent bond.

    Where to use:

     

    Surfaces must be dry and free of oil, grease, dust and any other contaminants that could affect the bond. The substrate also needs enough load-bearing capacity. You can't bond to frozen surfaces.

    On porous or damp surfaces, or in low temperatures, use an illbruck primer (ME901, ME902, ME904 or AT140).

  • Preparation

    • Make sure surfaces are dry and free of oil, grease, dust and other contaminants.
    • Check the substrate has sufficient load-bearing capacity. Frozen surfaces can't be bonded.
    • Prime porous or damp substrates, or work in low temperatures, with ME901, ME902, ME904 or AT140.
    • Use AT140 when bonding over joints sealed with silicone-based sealants.

    Application

    • Detach the release paper and place the tape centrally over the joint (for example, the edge of an overlapping membrane or across a panel joint). Aim for a minimum coverage of 20mm onto each substrate.
    • Gradually peel off the release paper and adhere the tape, keeping it tension-free and wrinkle-free.
    • Apply firm pressure by hand to consolidate the bond. A seam roller will improve adhesion further in most applications.
    • Do not use the tape below a 10° roof pitch.
