Description

floorsaver concrete Floor Paint dustproofs, seals and protects internal concrete floors. Two coats provide a glossy, easily cleaned finish. It can be applied to bare concrete or existing well bonded paint. If you're re-coating over an existing paint of a similar colour, one coat should do the job.

How to Use

Step 1 - Preparation:

  • On bare, reasonably clean concrete wash with floorsaver Floor Etcher. This cleans and keys the surface. On greasy or previously painted floors clean with floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser, scraping off any loose paint, dust or dirt. New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity.

 

Step 2 - Repairs:

  • Fill small surface holes and cracks using floorsaver Crack & Hole Filler. Use floorsaver Pourable Concrete Filler for holes 5mm-50mm deep. floorsaver Mouldable Concrete Filler can be used if you want a curved edge, such as a stair nosing, etc.

 

Step 3 - Application:

  • Check the floor is dry before painting and that the temperature is a minimum of 15 ℃.
  • Stir the paint thoroughly.
  • Do not thin.
  • Tip into a roller tray.
  • Cut in around edges with a brush.
  • Apply to the floor area using a paint roller, working well into the surface. Bare concrete should be sufficiently porous to allow the first coat to sink in.
  • Clean equipment with White Spirit.

      Drying times

      At 15-20 ℃:

      • Recoat - 16 hours (if there is a time lapse between coats, the second coat must be applied within 5 days of the first coat)
      • Touch Dry - 10 hours
      • Light Foot Traffic - 24 hours
      • Full Use - 36 hours. Please check that the paint has fully cured before putting into full use
      Minimum application temperature 15 ℃
      Applications Tough enough for use in warehouses, workshops and for general industrial use
      Shelf life Shelf Life - 3 years, if unopened. Do not allow to freeze.

       

      We don't recommend:

      • Using this product in areas where cars are parked - instead use floorsaver Epoxy Floor Paint.
      • Using outside.
      • Applying to self-levelling floor screeds.
      • Applying to concrete contaminated with oil, grease, fats or wax.
      • Applying to hard, smooth, very dense or power floated concrete where the paint can't soak into the surface. If in doubt tip a cup of water onto the floor and see if it disappears.

      • A: Thisprodcut would likely not be suitable for a latex leveller. This prodcut is a solvent based PU coating. Most leveller cannot be painted or do not recommend painting, but when they are sutiabel, water based paint (such as our epoxy floor paint) is likely more suitable.

      • A: Latex levellers cannot often be painted, please check with the screed manufactirer for compatability with paint. It is likely they would say water based, if anything, therefore our Epoxy Floor Paint would be more likely suitable.

      • A: Hi, out of the paints we have the Floor Paint would be the best option for this area. it is a polyruethane coating and better for a timber substrate, it has quite good chemical and oil resistance and can be easily applied in two coats. No primer would be required but its always a good idea to lightly sand back the surface to ensure the paint has the best opportunity to bond correcty.

      • A: Hi, if you are looking to park a car in the area then im afraid the Floor Paint would not be suitable. It is for foot traffic only. You can use our Car Park paint for this area, or if there is no exposure to sunlight you can apply our Epoxy Floor Paint (if exposed to UV it could change colour, which is why we dont use it externally normally).

      • A: Hi, this product is a polyurethane paint system and can be applied to timber. I would advise sanding back the MDF to get some texture and porosity to the surface for the paint to soak in to.

        Thank you for your enquiry,

        We recommend abrading any existing paint prior to applying our products to re create a keyed texture finish for the paint to adhere to. As long as the surface is clean, dry and has a degree of porosity then the paint will be fine to be applied.

      • A: Hi,  Thank you for your enquiry,  As long as the surface is clean and dry no treatment is usually required. If it is our concrete leveller we recommend leaving 24-36 hours prior to applying our water based epoxy, for our single pack solvent based paint we advise leaving approx 3 months before painting. if it is a different manufacturer of leveller, contacting the manufacturer would be advisable for their guidelines.

      • A: Hi, I am afraid this product is not suitable for external use. It is a hardwearing paint and would likely bond well to an external surface, however it is not UV resistant and could change colour in areas exposed to sunlight.

      • A: No, you shouldn’t need to use a sealant after painting with the floor paint.

      • A: Hi, the drying time on the Floor Paint at 20 degrees is 24 hours for light traffic. You can do your 2nd coat after 16 hours.

      • A: Hi, i a msorry but we don not recommend painting tiles with our coatings.

      • A: Hi, it would stop water soaking in to the surface but cannot be classed as waterproof. it is for internal use only and i would not recoomend it in a bathroom setting.

      • A: Unfortunately this is for concrete floors – and will not adhere to a smooth laminate surface as it will not be able to adhere.

      • A: This product is really for floors. It may well work ok but I would expect it to run.

      • A: Hi, we produce more stock all the time. the wait time is usually only a week or two when we do run out.

      • A: I am afraid this paint is not suitable for external applications.

        It is a ready mixed polyurethane paint which is not UV resistant.

      • A: Thank you for your enquiry, however the floor paint is not suitable to go onto kitchen tiles, I’m afraid we don’t have anything suitable for this either.

        Drying times At 15-20 ℃:

      • A: Hi, we do not recommending thinning the Floor Paint since this will affect the formulation and therefore it could look patchy, not dry as it should and the overall strength could be affected. If you would like to talk this through please contact us on 0345 450 9888.

      • A: Hi, I am afraid the product in not flexible so would not be suitable.

      • A: For a garage floor, and a small tractor, the epoxy version would be more suitable for a couple of reasons – it will withstand tyre traffic and not peel up, and will last longer.  It's best to etch the bare concrete before painting as it will provide a key and remove any dust at the same time.

      • A: No I'm afraid it won't.  You would be better off using our Epoxy Floor Paint which is a water based, two pack, epoxy resin coating as it has better urine resistance than the single pack Floor Paint.  However, although urine will not strip the coating off the floor, it will probably stain/discolour it.

      • A: Hi, the following coatings can be used outside...Exterior Floor Paint (mid grey/yellow/tile red), Car Park Paint (grey/mid blue) and Hazard Paint (and we do an anti slip version too - both available in safety yellow).  I hope this helps.
