Surface Preparation
Apply to clean, smooth, dry surfaces such as painted or varnished wood, concrete, metal, tiles, and Terrazzo. Apply direct to smooth, hard concrete; dusty concrete will require a primer.

Priming
Smooth, non porous, dust free surfaces do not require priming. To improve adhesion on weak, dusty surfaces, apply a coat of Safety Tape Primer.

Application
If appearance is critical we recommend the application of a small trial area first.

Avoid application at temperatures below 10℃. Low temperatures can reduce adhesion. On steps and nosings, apply the product approximately 10mm in from the edge to prevent premature wear and edge curl. Peel back the backing strip approximately 50mm to reveal the adhesive layer. Avoid removing too much of the backing strip, but slowly keep peeling it back whilst firming the product into place. Firming down by hand or foot pressure is generally sufficient.

Adhesion
Although the product can be walked on virtually straight away, the adhesive can take 24 hours to set fully. Immediately after placing the item onto the substrate, it can be peeled off reasonably easily. Please allow the adhesive to set if using in heavily trafficked or hazardous areas.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • A: Hi, the hoels will reduce the surface area of the adhesive backing and i am afraid this would likely reduce their longevity. They would stick if the holes are small the aea is large enough for them to stick to though.
If the surface has ridges, like a checker plate finish, you should use the conformable version - this will follow the texture of the surface and this will get a better, stronger bond.

  • A: I would suggest working from a corner or edge and using a scraper with some warm soapy water. The adehsive is quite strong but they will come away.

  • A: Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry,  these are fine to go on to a tiled surface, we recommend the area is clean and dry prior to application.  these are made from a PVC with oxide grit and can easily be cut with sharp industrial scissors.

If I can help further please let me know.

  • A: These are self-adhesive. Unfortunately this does mean a steam cleaner may work against the adhesive and cause the cleats to separate from the stair tread.

I would suggest using as little fluid as possible and a soft broom to clean them if you can.

  • A: The Anti Slip Tread Cleats are 4mm thick.

  • A: Yes these can easily be cut with sharp scissors or a Stanley knife.   They will then provide a gritty anti slip surface.
