Step 1 - Preparation:

  • Surfaces should be clean, dry and dust free.
  • If using as a line marker or to paint a kerb or minor obstruction (rather than painting a larger area), the best way of cleaning your floor is probably by using a stiff or wire brush and sweeping away any dust. Grease or oil can be removed by using floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser.
  • For larger areas of floor - On bare, reasonably clean concrete wash with floorsaver Floor Etcher - this cleans and keys the surface. On greasy or previously painted floors clean with floorsaver Cleaner & Degreaser, scraping off any loose paint, dust or dirt. New concrete should be at least 2 months old and always washed with floorsaver Floor Etcher to reduce alkalinity.

Step 2 - Repairs:

  • Fill small surface holes and cracks using floorsaver Crack & Hole Filler. Use floorsaver Mouldable Concrete Filler if you have to repair a step nosing or kerb edge.

Step 3 - Application:

  • Check the surface is dry before painting and that the temperature is a minimum of 15 ℃.
  • Concrete or similar surfaces should be sufficiently porous for the product to 'soak in' to get a key.
  • If using a paint brush one coat should be sufficient, but if you are using this over a darker previously painted floor, or applying it by roller, allow for two coats to get a solid colour. Leave for 16 hours (at 15 ℃-20 ℃) before applying the second coat. The second coat must be applied within 5 days of the first coat.
  • If using floorsaver Hazard Paint Anti Slip, tip the small tin of Anti Slip Aggregate into the tin and stir thoroughly using a wooden batten or similar. Use the whole tin of aggregate for the 5L pack size and half for the 2.5L
  • Clean equipment with White Spirit.

    QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

    Ask a Question
    • A: Hi, the Hazard Paint and our concrete Floor Paint are exactly the same formula and both are available with the Anti-Slip additive. On the Floor Paint page we have two options for grey, Light and Mid grey colours, though the largest tin we sell in this product is 5L.
      Kind Regards,
